I had my L6, 250 6 cylinder, rebuilt and I installed it about two months ago, been tinkering with it ever since. The overflow tank was all cracked and leaked so I got a nice looking piece of bling from Speedway Motors and installed it next to the rad and have been losing coolant ever since. Seems coolant expands way more when hot than I thought. The tank I bought simply wasn't large enough, I'll order a new plastic non bling one tomorrow. While the engine is stock I have iron headers and a new 4 barrel for it as soon as the intake manifold arrives. To be continued.

Nothing is more annoying than you vehicle loosing coolant everywhere. Keep us posted.

I'm getting one from LMC, one I hope, is close to an original one. The one I installed is like a pint and what I need is more like a quart. I've seen these little ones on lots of show cars/trucks, I guess bling trumps practicalities.

If that is the most annoying thing your car does you are a mechanical genius. I let the coolant wash away the oil and tranny fluid. I try to use the nontoxic coolant. blush

I have another annoying little problem. One bolt on the intake/exhaust manifold keeps undoing itself, or rather the "keeper" for lack of a better description keeps creeping and turning and when it does the clamping pressure from the bolt is released. I'd buy a new one if available but so far haven't seen any in the catalogs. I have filed it flat and that has helped some. when new manifolds go on I'll make one out of bar stock.

Check eBay they show up there sometimes. Grind down a thick flat washer.

A new coolant overflow bottle arrived from LMC, installed it and WOW, problem solved. This engine compartment could use some more bling, but it won't be in the form of a shiny overflow container. It's getting close to the time to buy a finned valve cover. Long live bling!

PS I'll never say bling again, hereafter it's "My pretty".
